Communities of Practice
UrbanHIT works with local Communities of Practice (CoP) in Maputo and Dar es Salaam to address matters of urban electricity provision, use and governance together with different stakeholder groups. This helps to gain new empirical and theoretical insights and collaboratively develop both academically and socially relevant knowledge. The participating stakeholders contribute with complementary expertise, experience and engagement and can benefit from the use of the project’s research outcomes and outputs. Members include community representatives, public authorities, NGOs, utility companies, and financial organizations. The CoP shares knowledge, and supports and directs the UrbanHIT research team via its regular meetings. CoP workshops also present an opportunity to create stronger professional ties across various fields, thus providing a platform for enhanced sharing of experiences and perspectives and the co-creation of knowledge.
